I recently stumbled across Lipucd’s blog. And they seem pretty cool. Another naughty pixel artist and RPG Maker. They’re also a huge fan of Q-Bee, so I thought I’d make this as a way to say “hello”

This picture came together fairly quickly in only 3 hours. I decided to try using my mixed shading and “painted outlines” approach again with Photoshop and Pixelover. The translucent wings came out pretty nice. In the old version of this picture I forgot to use color maps, so the colors were muted and less controlled. The next day I re-did the colors and refined the shading. I recorded a time-lapse video of the first attempt.
